Prevalence of Cardiovascular Disease in Ghana’s Northern Region: A Cross-Sectional Study of Four Rural Villages

Objective: This research study will assess the prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors and to estimate the cardiovascular risk among adults aged > 40 years in Ghana’s Northern Region using World Health Organization / International Society of Hypertension (WHO/ISH) risk prediction charts.  Data used from this study can be used at the individual level to improve the effectiveness of CVD risk prevention and management and at the population level to assist health service delivery planning for CVD and all other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
